Editing & proofreading
What is bilingual editing?
The translation process of any document involves the work of a specialized translator, an editing phase, and more specifically the bilingual editing phase. At this point, an editor compares the source text with the translated text.
The aim of bilingual editing is to ensure that the translated document is true to the original, that there are no interpretative or linguistic errors and that the vocabulary used is accurate. It must also guarantee that the text maintains the appropriate tone and coherence of the target language and that the idea in the original text is effectively conveyed.

What is proofreading?
Proofreading is a part of the translation process that consists of polishing the translated text. It is the final revision performed by the linguist before sending the translated document to the client. In this phase, improvements to style and cohesion are made and possible errors that may have been overlooked in the previous phases are reviewed, taking into account aspects such as text appearance, grammar, syntax or punctuation.
Content revision or proofreading is essential in any translation project. In order to achieve a professional translation free of spelling, typographic and stylistic errors, experienced experts must proofread it to guarantee its quality.
