What is multilingual Desktop Publishing?
Multilingual DTP (Multilingual Desktop Publishing) is the set of IT processes used to produce documents suitable for printing in several languages. The quality of the communication requires a graphic design phase, often complemented by a translation.
Depending on the language, typographic standards vary and some special characters, accents and alphabets can place limitations on the creation of documents and make the work of graphic designers very complicated.
At Agency for Words we work with a wide range of document formats (both Mac and PC), typeset with different programs such as InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, among others.

How is multilingual DTP done?
At Agency for Words we will take care of extracting the text, translating it and placing the translated text in the layout without losing the structure of the source document's design.
Our DTP team will make sure that the texts are placed where they belong, taking care to apply the rules of the target language (line breaks, fonts, reading direction, formatting, etc.).
In this type of work it must be taken into account that the amount of translated text may be more or less than the text in the source document, so our DTP team will make sure that everything fits perfectly in the document layout.
